Frequently Asked Questions about Bocasal

BocaSal is a supersaturated calcium phosphate powder that when mixed and dissolved in water creates a rinse that is supersaturated with both calcium and phosphate ions.

BocaSal does not cure dry mouth or mucositis, but relieves the symptoms associated with the two ailments.

Dissolve or disperse one packet of BocaSal in 30 mL (1oz) of water. Immediately after the solution appears clear, swish the solution in the mouth thoroughly for 1 minute with 1/2 of the solution and spit out. Repeat the process with the remaining solution.

Using more than 1oz of water will reduce the effectiveness of BocaSal.

BocaSal has no adverse effects when using and is still safe if swallowed accidentally.

With mild cases of xerostomia, less doses are required to combat the symptoms. Those battling with mucositis are typically advised to use 4 – 10 doses based on severity. Always consult your physician for your specific dosing requirements.

A child may receive a prescription for BocaSal same as an adult as there are no adverse effects to children. However, it is a prescription and should be taken according to the instructions of a physician and may require adult supervision. BocaSal should be kept out of reach of children who don’t have a prescription.
